Sports Massage is frequently used for the prevention and recovery of sports and activity related injuries and can play a very useful role during training and in the run up to and recovery period from a sports event. Having said that, it is not only beneficial to the sports person as the techniques used can help to alleviate and prevent general day to day and work related aches and pains.
An important aim of sports massage is to maintain healthy muscle tissue to help you to take part in your sport and daily activities.
Sports massage differs from other types of massage because it is applied specifically to tissues that the practitioner has identified that need treating.
It uses a combination of deep tissue massage and a variety of specialised techniques to aid in the rehabilitation and maintenance of soft tissue structures; muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Sports massage is very much geared towards the individual so your needs can be discussed during your consultation and depending on your reason for treatment, some assessment may be included to help devise the most appropriate treatment plan for you.
Appointment lengths are 30 mins and 60 mins.
